Tasting note
A classic example of albarino with aromas of apricot, peach and pineapple with a salty mineral touch. It has a lively palate with decent weight and texture and a refreshingly long length.
Our thoughts
Notas Frutales de Albariño is set in the Codado de Tea sub-zone of Rias Baixas, in the south-eastern corner of the DO, towards the Portuguese border. There, further inland, the climate is a touch more clement than the prevailing cool, damp conditions that define Rias Baixas, and the Alonso family farm six Albariño vineyards on the right bank of the Miño River, at around 300m altitude. The Trucha bottling, named after the trout that José Alonso would fish for in the Miño as a child, is a classic rendering, with tropical peach and apricot flavours set off by piercing apple and saline notes on the finish.
