2019 Kaesler, 'Stonehorse' Grenache, Barossa Valley, South Australia

The Stonehorse wines are full of character, like the teams of Clydesdale horses that used to work the heavy clay soil in the vineyards. The Stonehorse Grenache is a blend of Grenache from Kaesler's Barossa vineyards, from vines up to 46 years old. Pale red in colour, the nose explodes with sweet and juicy strawberries, violets and spice. Despite its power, the palate shows great restraint and freshness, with ripe cherries, rich plums and earthy undertones on the lightly tannic finish.
