Jean-Jacques and Agnes Girard run the family estate with their sons Vincent and Francois. Over the past 20 years, Jean-Jacques has built the estate into one of the finest in Burgundy, and has acquired vineyards in all the top villages of the northern Cote de Beaune. Following the construction of a new winery, the whites and reds are now fermented and aged in separate cellars which can be maintained at different temperatures allowing for greater precision in the vinification and elevage.

Jean-Jacques Girard Beaune 1er Cru Clos du Roi 2016 is intensely aromatic, brimming with bright red fruits on the nose, and turning more earthy and gamey on the palate. A remarkably silky wine with fine tannin and seriously impressive intensity and complexity for a red Burgundy at this price.

Pairs well with poultry, braised lamb, game, mushrooms, and ripe, soft cheeses.
